About me:
I’ve been teaching Spanish for over 17 years in traditional language schools across Spain, Italy, Argentina, the UK, and Asia, and founded Master Spanish Academy in 2020.
Our courses follow the same structured curriculum used in top institutions, with the mission of making high-quality Spanish education accessible to everyone—removing the high costs that often limit access—and guiding you from beginner to C2 level.

Congratulations on reaching lesson twenty-seven.
This is a big moment—you’ve completed Level A1.
You’ve built a solid foundation in Spanish, and now you’re ready to start expressing yourself with more confidence and clarity. Finishing this level is a real achievement, and you should recognize the consistency it took to get here.
In this final lesson, you’re going to learn the difference between saber and poder, two essential verbs to express ability and possibility.
Saber knowledge or learned skill
Poder ability or possibility in a specific situation
For example:
Sé hablar español (I know how to speak Spanish)
No sé cocinar bien (I don’t know how to cook well)
Puedo ayudarte ahora (I can help you now)
No puedo ir hoy (I can’t go today)
¿Sabes nadar? (Do you know how to swim?)
¿Puedes venir mañana? (Can you come tomorrow?)
A common mistake is mixing them:
Puedo hablar español (only correct if referring to ability in a situation, not knowledge)
Sé hablar español (I know how to speak Spanish)
Understanding this difference will make your Spanish much more precise and natural.
