About me:
I’ve been teaching Spanish for over 17 years in traditional language schools across Spain, Italy, Argentina, the UK, and Asia, and founded Master Spanish Academy in 2020.
Our courses follow the same structured curriculum used in top institutions, with the mission of making high-quality Spanish education accessible to everyone—removing the high costs that often limit access—and guiding you from beginner to C2 level.

Congratulations on reaching lesson eighteen.
You’re moving forward step by step, and now things are starting to expand in a very important way.
In this lesson, you’re going to learn regular verbs in the present tense. This is one of the core foundations of Spanish, because it allows you to talk about what you do every day, your habits, and your life in general.
You’ll work with verbs like:
pedir (to ask for) pido, pides, pide…
conocer (to know/meet) conozco, conoces, conoce…
tener (to have) tengo, tienes, tiene…
Typical mistakes to avoid:
Using infinitives in sentences yo comer en casa instead of yo como en casa
Confusing regular patterns with stem-changing verbs
And yes, this classic mistake: with verbs like pedir, students often say yo pedir, but it should be yo pido / él pide
Same with conocer: yo conoce instead of yo conozco
These mistakes are very common, but the fix is simple: repetition, correction, and seeing the verbs in real context until they become automatic.
Make sure you stay until the end and really understand how the conjugation system works.
And as always, don’t just watch.
You'll find the materials in From Zero to Hero Course and you can practice with our group conversation or private lessons. That’s how these structures become automatic.
Keep going. You’re building real control over the language now.
Virginia.
