About me:
I’ve been teaching Spanish for over 17 years in traditional language schools across Spain, Italy, Argentina, the UK, and Asia, and founded Master Spanish Academy in 2020.
Our courses follow the same structured curriculum used in top institutions, with the mission of making high-quality Spanish education accessible to everyone—removing the high costs that often limit access—and guiding you from beginner to C2 level.

Congratulations on reaching lesson twenty-six.
You’re now entering one of the most important verb tenses in Spanish.
In this lesson, you’re going to learn the pretérito perfecto, which is essential to start expressing actions in the past while still connecting them to the present.
This tense is used to talk about things that have happened recently or experiences in your life, such as:
He comido (I have eaten)
He viajado a España (I have traveled to Spain)
He estudiado mucho hoy (I have studied a lot today)
Hemos terminado el trabajo (We have finished the work)
It is formed with haber + participio pasado, and this is where many students make mistakes.
Typical mistakes:
Using incorrect participles escribido instead of escrito
Confusing verb forms he decido instead of he decidido
Forgetting that many participles are irregular and must be memorized
Mixing up “he” (I have) with other forms of haber
This tense is very powerful because it connects your past experiences directly to your present reality.
Make sure you stay until the end and really understand how it works in context.
And remember, don’t just watch.
In the From Zero to Hero course, you’ll find ad-free videos, improved textbooks, and complete workbooks designed to help you progress step by step.
It is very important that you also practice speaking. You can do this in our conversation group or through private lessons, where you receive feedback and improve much faster.
Click on all the links, explore everything available, and use the full system.
Keep going. You’re now starting to talk about your experiences in the past in Spanish.
