LESSON NOTES
Four Step Process
Step 1: Listen
Step 2: Get their name, and thank them
Step 3: Repeat the question
Step 4: SCOPE the question:
o Stop – pause and take a mental step back
o Clarify if you need to
o Options: think of the ways you could respond and which will be best
o Proceed with your response
o Evaluate your response by observing reactions and asking for feedback

What if you don’t know the answer?
Options:
o Alert a friend
o Give process rather than the result
o Admit and undertake to get an answer
