The concept of distributive fairness focuses on the criteria that lead people to feel they have received their fair share of available benefits. i.e. that the outcome of a negotiation or other decision-making process is fair. For example, imagine you and your business partner agreeing to sell your company. You get an offer that pleases you both, so now you face the enviable task of splitting up the rewards.
In negotiations, you should strive to bring fairness considerations to the surface so that everyone will understand one another’s needs and wants.
