We create a currency converter that updates in real time by extracting external data using Excel's From Web functionality. After extracting the data we use the VLOOKUP function to retrieve the corresponding exchange rates for each currency. We also use data validation to enable the user to select one of the currencies available from a drop-down list. Finally, we take a few steps to format the currency converter; removing gridlines, adding colour and changing font styles to name a few. To update the currency data, we enter the data tab and click refresh all.
