Video of What is Cynefin? What is the Cynefin Framework? in Agile Scrum course by Online PM Courses - Mike Clayton channel, video No. 28 free certified online
The Cynefin Framework is a model for understanding the different types of problems we can face and therefore helps you understand what approach to take to:
• Problem-solving
• Decision-making
The Cynefin Framework was developed by Dave Snowden and a great introduction is his 2007 Harvard Business Review article, ‘A Leader’s Framework for Decision Making’, co-written by David J Snowden and Mary E Boone.

The Cynefin Framework divides the situations we encounter into different domains. The first two are predictable, or ordered domains. The next two are unpredictable, and there is a fifth, Disordered Domain.
The Simple Domain
Obvious cause and effect relationships. Patterns and events are highly predictable, based on simple interaction.
Complicated Domain
Strong cause and effect relationship, but the patterns can be harder to spot or predict. Experts are needed, for their ability to apply appropriate analytical methods.
Complex Domain
Weak cause and effect relationships give systems low predictability and prior knowledge and experience offer little insight into the future. Patterns are emergent and can only be understood with the benefit of hindsight.
Chaotic Domain
Patterns are not discernible, or barely glimpsed. If they exist, they have randomness or non-linear interaction embedded in them.
Disordered Domain
Relationships lack clarity and you don’t yet know which domain you are in.

A while back, I asked Project Managers in a couple of forums what material things you need to have, to do your job as a Project Manager. They responded magnificently. I compiled their answers into a Kit list.
